On Transgression!!!, Donald Miller, guitar icon known for destroying worlds in the great Borbetomagus, takes the listener on an unexpected journey through the 12-string acoustic guitar. Utilizing his occult kinetic picking style, Miller reveals undiscovered universes with nothing but a slide and a spell to guide us. Playing a blues that bristles against structure while transmitting ineffable mastery, Transgression!!! is a modern guitar album like no other. Recorded in his current city, New Orleans, the album is the first to feature Miller playing in a more traditional style than either his group work or prior solo releases. For an artist known for exploring fantastic depths of the deepest abstractions, Transgression!!! is a mystifying journey toward structure that glows with the musician’s signature intent.

Recorded and mixed at Christopher Robert's home studio over three sessions, amongst our other musical endeavors, betwixt Spring and Summer of 2017, a dozen blocks from my house in New Orleans.
My gratitude is immense to Chris and Ali And Viv, who were there, Rob Cambre for being Rob Cambre, Emmalee Sutton, who I had just learned totally knew the Dance as I made this thing, and Cree for everyfuckingthing we endure.
And inspiration, if post factum, is acknowledged here to George Harriman, Don Marquis, Leonora Carrington, Austin Spare, Georges Bataille, Hans Bellmer, Unica Zurn and D'Gary.

Fascinated with his playing/constructions. Reminds me of Bastro era David Grubbs but then uh oh! Basho! So many things I like about music are represented on this record. bryan schmitz

Long-form trance-y rhythmic jams, with a fun shambling edge, sounding like a cross between music from Africa's Sahel region crossed with a Tom Waits instrumental... Jascha Narveson
The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024

Bright gray sheets of roaring and shimmering guitar held aloft by a delicate web of percussion. Post-rock, shoegaze, psych- rock and hints of bluesy folk, all audible and enmeshed. IlsaJ
